Refreshing screen

Postby Wilky » Thu Sep 29, 2011 10:44 am

Hi...
As a newbie to Quest (3-4 days) I was wondering if it's possible, after creating an object with an action, to automatically refresh the screen after a five second delay and show the new item with the room description.

Also, I wrote the game in the first person... I've managed to get all the correct responses e.g. 'I can see...', 'I pick up the...' etc. but the inventory request still says, 'You are carrying...'. How do I change this to 'I am carrying...'?

There's currently no way of updating existing text, and anyway I think it would look a bit strange. Would you still have the "take object" command underneath the updated room description?

You can change the "You are carrying" text by modifying the CarryingListHeader template.

Thanks for that, Max. I've now discovered that using the container/surface options does exactly what I need for displaying newly found objects... and the tutorial pages successfully guided me through the template changes.

Again, many thanks.
