Hosting

Hi guys, I would like to have games I create hosted on my own server but cannot find any information on how to do this.

Am prepared to pay anyone who can do this for me.

Thanks.

I'm confused, are you asking how to store your games on your own server while using an external host, or about setting up your own server? If you are looking for an external host you can check out the game server hosting by XXXX, but I haven't actually used it, so I can't give you much advice on it. I have a friend who is using it, so I can ask and get back to you.

Edited out URL. Josh, feel free to PM localnet if you wish to pass the URL on. (Google works well for such things, too.)

localnet: if you're referring to hosting Quest games, then the only way I know to *directly* do it (not linked to textadventures) is to get the Quest web server code from git, build it and deploy it on a server - not a trivial task.

If you're referring to hosting other sorts of games, then you'd be best off googling for game servers. I'm sure there's lots of info out there!
